Should I expect short-term SEO result?

Client question: My budget is limited so I'm going to need to show results before I can spend more aggressively. I'd like us to set some short term goals (~3mos) so we can gauge how we are doing.

Answer: It makes sense that you think that way, as many people do. You can run short-term campaigns and measure results in email marketing, pay-per-click campaigns, or social media campaigns. However it is hard to do the same with SEO.

Organic SEO is a continuous progress that may takes 6 months or more to place your site on Google index and boost its rankings gradually to drive the search traffic that your site deserves.

At CBI we can give you some visible rankings to see in a month. However it is not recommended. You may be excited with "looking-nice" rankings and may become impatient with long-term values.

In 3 months, you'll see rankings, but that may be far from what you'd get in the long run. It is like you will get the reward when you reach the destination, but you'll get nothing in the middle of the way.

In the 4th month, our site www.jbeautybrands.com rank #1 or #2 on Google for "japanese cosmetics", even higher than Shiseido. But we have little to show at the 3rd month.
